Configuration
Powering on the terminal
1. Open the terminal
- For the X1 terminal, unscrew the four screws on the back.
- For the X4 terminal, only the two screws on the top cover need to be removed, then slide off the cover.
2. Insert the backup battery into the corresponding slot.
3. Connect the terminal to the network using an Ethernet cable. At this point, the terminal will power on. Save the IP address.
4. Access the terminal's web configuration interface:
- Open a browser and type `http://` followed by the IP address of the device to be configured.
- When accessing, you will be prompted for a username and password. Use admin for both.
Attention: If the IP address could not be saved: |
For the X1 terminal:
- Hold down the left button with the two arrows in reverse.
For the X4 terminal:
1. Click on the time.
2. When prompted for the code, enter "00000" and press ENTER.
3. Scroll through the menu to the last option "POWER OFF" and press the confirmation button.
4. The terminal will restart. During the restart, the IP address should be displayed on the screen in the "IP" section if connected correctly. If the IP section shows 0.0.0.0, we recommend checking the Ethernet cable connection.
Alternatively, you can access the terminal's IP information using any IP address scanning tool and look for the device with the manufacturer TMC s.r.l.
Initial Configuration VAR-Sportrick
Accessing the VAR-Sportrick Interface
1. Go to the VAR portal URL: https://var.sportrick.com
2. Log in using your access credentials. If you do not have VAR credentials, please contact support at support.sportrick@zucchetti.it.
3. Enter the green section labeled Managed Environments. An Environment List will appear with one or more SPORTRICK environments.
Identifying the Sportrick Environment and Device List
1. Click on the View More button corresponding to the SPORTRICK environment where the terminals will be configured.
2. Click on the yellow section labeled Configurations > Device List.
3. An interface will open displaying a Device List with the terminals registered on the platform by the Sportrick technical service.
4. New terminals can be easily identified by the prefix "NEW_" in the Name column. Additionally, the terminals to be configured will show Record State = Missing in red.
Attention: If, at the beginning of the configuration process, no terminals with the prefix "NEW_" appear, contact support immediately at support.sportrick@zucchetti.it. |
Configuring VAR-Sportrick Terminal
Proceed in VAR as described below.
- Click on Modify corresponding to the terminal. An interface will open with a series of fields, some of which are mandatory and have been previously filled out by the Sportrick technical service.
- Modify the fields according to the information indicated in the table below. If necessary, also change the fields completed by the Sportrick technical service, except for the Code field which cannot be altered.
FIELD NAME | PRE-FILLED | DESCRIPTION | IT IS NECESSARY TO MODIFY THE VALUE? |
Code | Yes | Unique code assigned to the terminal exclusively by the SPORTRICK Team. | DO NOT ALTER THIS VALUE! |
Description | Yes | Describes the exact location where the terminal is installed. This field will display a generic description with the prefix NEW, which must be modified. Examples: Main Entrance Turnstile, Water Area 1 Access, etc. This information is displayed in the access control interface during client access. | Yes. It is advisable to modify the generic description to a specific description according to the position and direction of the terminal control. |
Short name (shown on instant access notifications) | No | If the Description in the previous field is too long, a short description can be displayed at the time of access in the pop-up at the top right (max. 10 characters). Examples:
| Optional: this field is not mandatory but allows the access point to be displayed in the pop-up. If the field is left empty, the pop-up will NOT indicate the point from which access is being made. |
Model | No | Describes the hardware model for access control. | Yes. Always select Axcess TMC X1/X2 for X1 models and Axcess TMC X4 for X4 and XA4 models. |
Technology | No | Indicates the technology of the identification devices. | Yes. It can be Mifare or RFID125. By default, it is always configured as Mifare. |
Relay Open Time (ms) | Yes | Milliseconds for the opening of the turnstile relay. By default, the Sportrick technical service will indicate 500 ms. | Yes. It can be adjusted according to the access control installation requirements. |
Direction | Yes | Indicates the direction of terminal control. By default, the Sportrick technical service will indicate IN. | Yes. It can be adjusted according to the center's needs. Value = IN for entry and = OUT for exit. Attention: a terminal can only perform the check-in or check-out function. To activate control in both directions, a second terminal configured as OUT is required. |
Avoid optional controls | No | Prevents the terminal from enforcing certain requirements configured in SPORTRICK, such as medical certificates, payments, etc. This option is useful if the terminal is configured for parking access. | Optional: It is possible to select Yes according to the project's needs. |
Area Capienza (capacity control) | No | Configuration that allows blocking access to an area in case of full capacity. For this to occur, 2 terminals are required: one at the entrance and one at the exit of the area. For more information, refer to the manual: How do I restrict access to a specific area | Optional: This can be completed according to the project's needs by selecting the areas of interest that have been previously configured in SPORTRICK. |
Areas that device allows access to | No | Area(s) over which the terminal exerts access control. | Yes. According to the project's needs, select the areas of interest that have been previously configured in SPORTRICK. For more information, refer to the manual: Association Sportrick areas and terminal |
Template per stampa seriale: | No | DO NOT USE | DO NOT USE |
Nome gruppo (Group Name) | No | DO NOT USE | DO NOT USE |
3. Click on OK to save the changes;
4. Once the changes are confirmed, click on + Create Record;
5. The Record state will change to Existing in green.
6. Click on the blue button Download Device Configuration corresponding to the terminal being configured.
7. In the Network Settings, enable DHCP and click OK. If the configuration requires setting up the QR code, also select the option Enable QRCode.
8. By clicking OK, a TXT file will be automatically downloaded: “UPDATECONFIG.TXT”.
9. At this point, the configuration continues in the terminal's web interface.
Final Configuration from the Terminal's Web Interface (Zucchetti Axcess)
Accessing the Terminal's Web Configuration Interface
- Access the terminal's web configuration interface by typing http:// followed by the IP address of the device to be configured in the browser, as indicated in the initial chapter.
- Once inside the interface, proceed to the Advanced Menu section:
Configuration from the Terminal Interface

5. Once the file is uploaded, restart the terminal, and the image you inserted will appear.
Installation on Site
Follow the mounting instructions provided with the terminal.
Checking Communication Between the Terminal and SPORTRICK
1. With the terminal powered on and connected to the network, place a proximity card on the terminal to detect access from the SPORTRICK access control section.
2. Verify that the interface displays the message "the card is not associated with any profile" and shows the access point.
3. If this message appears, the terminal is communicating with SPORTRICK correctly. If nothing appears in the SPORTRICK access control interface, it is necessary to review all the steps in this manual, including mounting instructions provided with the terminal.
